Assignments & Grading

You are required to complete in-class work, blogs, one critical essay, a midterm exam, and a final exam. You are also expected to attend and participate in each class session through preparation, class discussion, and completing in-class writing activities, blogs, and reading quizzes. Students are expected to carefully read all assigned work prior to class, and to actively participate in all class exercises and discussions. Participation in class is a significant portion of your semester grade.

 Daily Grade*

Many professors handle participation grades differently. Class work and in-class writings will be the largest part of the grade. Class work will be reviewed with a basic check or minus system. If a student is on the edge of a grade, his or her participation in class discussion is taken into account. Class work must be done on the day it is assigned. If you have questions about your participation grade, please see me.
